early childhood

Introduction

My personal history of art started from the very beginning of my upbringing. There was an important part of my childhood called needlework or crafts as a hobby. As far as my mother was a craft teacher at school, it was her great joy to teach me how to use different materials and to invent beautiful or funny things with them. At that time I was also attending some pottery and fusing glass classes.

Crafts as a hobby marked the starting phase of my artistic journey, where I found a remarkable interest and joy in creating with my own hands. It was a time of learning some techniques that were invented centuries ago and are still carefully used nowadays.

At some point in my personal art history, a field of contemporary art caught my attention. This interest made me question the traditional boundaries that I was used to stay within. This led me to explore new forms of expression in between classical and contemporary approaches.

Crafts then evolved from a hobby to a conceptual medium through which I could express my ideas and thoughts. I began to experiment with different techniques and materials, pushing the boundaries of what was considered conventional. certain interest in patterns appeared in my work, reflecting the rhythm and symmetry, that I found in the knitting, crochet, and embroidery.

With time, my interest switched to the topics of pattern spreading, invasion and relations between individuals in systems, which led to the period called "Parasiting". This is the wide cloud of meanings that caught my interest at the beginning of 2024. Parasites can be understood literally as plant's or animal's harmful agents or as social or political interactions between the "host" and the "parasite" in certain systems.

Through it all, my relationship with art had different periods with certain significant themes or interests. This journey is exciting in terms of self-reflection and self-exploration, shaping me into the artist I am today.
