World-building inspired by video game sonic worlds

This sub-project began with a shared interest in video game sound design and grew into a collaborative process of building a sonic world: Scary World. Together, we explored how sound can shape atmosphere, character, and story without following a linear structure. Our research involved imagining and composing a three-stage world through sound, drawing, storytelling, and performance.

The process combined field recordings, experimental vocal work, and digital composition. Each character was given a unique sound identity, and the group created the textures and ambiences that defined the world’s sonic environment. Using tools like the Koala app and a repurposed drum pad, we composed soundscapes collaboratively—listening and layering each element of the world.

The project unfolded through nonlinear methods: collective drawing sessions, spontaneous narrative development, and iterative sound design. It became a way for us to question how sonic space can be imagined, built, and shared.
