Anna Symanczyk, M.A., studied Cultural Anthropology and Art History. She works as a research and teaching assistant at the Institut für Volkskunde/Kulturanthropologie, Universität Hamburg (Institute of Cultural Anthropology, University of Hamburg). In her PhD project she researches processes of product sound design. She was a recipient of the 2014 Isa Lohmann-Siems Foundation scholarship in Hamburg and worked in an interdisciplinary research project called Klang-Kontakte. Zur Kommunikation, Konstruktion und Kultur von Klängen (Sound-Contact. On the Communication, Design, and Culture of Sounds). She has been teaching at the Institut für Volkskunde/Kulturanthropologie at the University of Hamburg and the Institut Kultur der Metropole at Hafen City Universität, Hamburg.
