Ethics & Relations

In this seminar, you will discuss ethics and relations in artistic research and artistic practice, and you will learn methods for mapping ethical dimensions of artistic research projects.

What to prepare?

  1. Read
    a) The mandatory reading for Module 3 (Crispin, D. (2019), Eeg-Tverbakk, C. (2020), Fossheim, H. J. (2015), Fossheim, H. J. (2015), Gundersen, J. et al (2020)).
    b) The On Ethics & Relations page
    c) Make yourself familiar with the work of the other PhD students; especially those in your group (the groups will be published before the seminar).

  2. Hand in
    a) Familiarize yourself with Ethics in artistic research - a guide (English) / Etikk i kunstnerisk utviklingsarbeid - en veileder.
    b) Identify and reflect on at least one ethical aspect in your artistic research project.
    c) Create and submit a short text (max 300 words) or produce a video/audio (max 3 minutes) or other material that introduces us to your project and the ethical aspects you want to discuss. Deadline: 1 Septeber at 12:00. Send to: pku@hkdir.no

  3. Bring
    Prepare for group discussion: Develop a 15-minute presentation that introduces your project and the ethical aspects. Your presentation should relate to your submitted material and encourage discussion.
