The ASC (Art for Social Change) Web is an interactive web page, a pedagogical exposition and a database documentary about Art for Social Change in practice and theory.
600 hours of video have been cut down to 13 hours of insightful, whimsical, serious and thought-provoking conversation about the practice, production and theory of Art for Social Change.

The SIG Facilitating took shape at the 2023 SAR Conference in Trondheim, after observing over an extended time how frequently artists, artistic researchers and even policy makers refer to facilitation when describing interactions with audiences, communities and research partners. Finding ways to examine such facilitating processes is crucial to the work under way.
We know that facilitating practices exist widely in interactive and community based art, and in theater and the performing arts, for example using games, props and improvisation. There are intersections with pedagogy and professional facilitation and coaching, with at least the latter understood as prizing outcomes over processes. The SIG Facilitating asks: What does it mean to facilitate as part of artistic research? Why is this focus emerging now? How are we drawing on a greater web?

Facilitating Performer - Processing Vanity

This artistic research exposition is on interaction, participation and performance. It combines the building of an interactive process in which the audience becomes co-performer or participant. This process is guided by the facilitating performer. Together we (the audience and performer) explore the subject of vanity through this process.

The arts-based research project Six Formats (February 2015 - June 2018) analysed various formats commonly used in relation to arts-based knowledge articulation and/or communication in the present day: publication, exhibition, symposium, lecture-performance, screening, and workshop. Six Formats created situations of dialogue in, on, and between each of its formats. Six Formats facilitated co-processes of ongoing self-reflection and re-articulation aiming for reciprocal attentiveness to the respective needs of the project, its partners, and co-researchers. Six Formats was funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF, PEEK, AR291-G21) and hosted by the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.
