Advancing Supervision for Artistic Research Doctorates

ADiE is a partnership with eight organizations from across the UK and Scandinavia that seeks to support, substantiate and enhance the delivery and impact of the third cycle provision in Dance and Performance degrees. The webpage includes resources and case studies.

Artistic Research in Music

Artistic Research in Music – an Introduction is a free online course (MOOC) curated by the Orpheus Institute. The course offers an introduction to relevant research tools, techniques, and methodologies as well as the key concepts of artistic research in music.

Asia Pacific Artistic Research Network (APARN)

APARM is an initiative from the Centre of Visual Art, University of Melbourne and the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Yogyakarta. 

Artistic Research Africa Dialogues (ARA)
ARA is a series of podcasts from Wits School of Arts at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg – available on all the major podcast platforms – exploring questions related to artistic research through dialogues with practitioners both international and African.

The Norwegian National Research Ethics Committees 

The Norwegian National Research Ethics Committees are independent agencies for questions regarding research ethics, and investigation of misconduct, within all subject areas*. The committees' shared secretariat is based in Oslo. (* In 2021, a specialty group was established by Universities Norway -  Art, Design, Architecture (UHR-KDA) to suggest ethical guidelines for artistic research. The group has not yet completed the work).

The Vienna Declaration on Artistic Research

The declaration aims at presenting a clearer, better articulation of the concepts and impact of AR within the Frascati Manual - the OECD classification manual for collecting statistical research data. 

Map ethics!
An exposition set up to offer a model or method for running workshops and initiating discussions with ethical issues. The work is part of the Norwegian (University of Bergen) work package in the Erasmus+ project Advaning Supervision for Artistic Research Doctorates.

Norwegian Centre for Research Data (NSD)

The Norwegian Centre for Research Data ensures that data about people and society can be collected, stored, and shared, both safely and legally, today and in the future. From 2021, the centre is part of the Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills.

VIS - Nordic Journal for Artistic Research

VIS is a digital journal presenting artistic research, with a special emphasis on the Nordic region. It highlights the importance for Nordic artist-researchers of reflection as a mental discipline that, when interwoven with artistic practice, generates new knowledge. The journal is the result of a cooperation between Stockholm University of the Arts (SKH) and the Norwegian Artistic Research Programme of the Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills.
