At the intersection of Dance Dramaturgy and Black Performance Studies, the ABC’s of Dramaturgical Ecologies events emerged from a desire to generate dialogue and reflection across these two fields.
A pair of keywords drawn from our research and placed in dialogue between the DE group and invited artists, practitioners, scholars. These keywords served as prompts - mediums, or perhaps we could say, excuses - for conversations with intention and framing, yet never limited by them. We present here a brief account of each event and the themes that emerged through the interwoven dialogues.

CLOSING PUBLIC EVENT - GROUND PROVISIONS:
In dialogue with Dr. Erin Manning, who brings the philosophy of movement into the realms of Neurodiversity and Blackness to inquire into the normative prescriptions of whiteness; and Dr. Adebayo Akomolafe’s provocative reflections on post-activism, global crisis, and ontofugitivity, Ground Provisions emerged from a desire to generate dialogue and reflection on Dance dramaturgy and Black Performance Studies, diasporic conceptualizations of Blackness in its creative manifestations. Moderated by Angélique Willkie.
