NORWEGIAN: Dette prosjektet i kunstnarleg utviklingsarbeid rører seg i feltet tradisjonsmusikk i Noreg og Sverige. Det tek utgangspunkt i dei mest vanlege instrumenta i sjangeren, hardingfela og fela, og stipendiatens eige instrument treradar, som er eit lite trekkspel. Fokus for utforskinga er instrumentet, ulike låttypar og spel til dans. Tema vert undersøkt gjennom overføring av låtmateriale i Vestland og Sør-Hedmark, komponering av eigne låtar og spel til dans. Utforskinga skjer både solo og i samspel i duoformat med Jeanette Evansson, fele/hardingfele, med Jonas Åkerlund, feler og gitarar, og med dansarar i workshopform. Dei ulike elementa påverkar kvarandre. Prosjektet undersøkjer kvalitetar i eit samspel både med musikarar og dansarar der kunnskap om låttypane ligg som grunnføresetnad for kommunikasjonen, og slik for spelerommet[1] i sjangeren.
Anette Thorsheim (f.1980) er folkemusikar på trerader, som er eit lite trekkspel. Ho har bakgrunn frå Kungliga musikhögskolan i Stockholm og Master frå Høgskulen i Telemark. I dag er ho tilsett som stipendiat i kunstnarleg utviklingsarbeid ved Universitetet i Bergen, der ho ma., fokuserer på spel til dans.
ENGLISH: This Artistic Research project is situated in the field of Traditional music in Norway and Sweden and focuses on the exploration of the melodeon and interplay with dancers. These topics are investigated through the development of new interpretations of tunes in both the Vestland region and in the border region between Norway and Sweden (Hedmark/Värmland), new compositions and interplay with traditional dancers, both solo and in two different project duos with Jeanette Evansson (fiddle, Hardanger fiddle), Jonas Åkerlund (fiddles, guitars) and in workshops with dancers. The activities related to these elements continually inform each other. This prosject examines qualities in interplay where knowledge about the different tune traditions makes the ground for the dynamics and communication between the musician and dancers.
Anette Thorsheim (f.1980) plays the melodeon, mostly focused on traditional fiddle- and Hardanger fiddle music. In addition to playing concerts, she frequently collaborates with dancers. She graduated with a Master's in Music in 2007 from Høgskulen i Telemark, Norway, as well as having studied at The Royal College of Music in Stockholm, Sweden. Currently she is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Bergen, Norway.
