(un)Romantic

Presenters: Live Maria Roggen & Ingfrid Breie Nyhus

Norwegian Academy of Music

«(un)Romantic / Improvising interpretation» is a duo exploration that takes its departure in late romantic songs. The project is led by vocalist Live Maria Roggen and pianist Ingfrid Breie Nyhus together. They experiment with traditioning and interpretation, with style and form, by improvisation as method. What is romantic or unromantic? What can interpretation be, and where is the transition between traditioning and composition? Can improvisation with residues and memories, tell us something about the song that was before?
