Drawing and diagramming, I think through and condense texts I either (co-) produce or select. In 2008, I began to talk with artists about their work processes, observing and distinguishing aesthetic modes of thought. In returning diagrams to artists and exploring various feedback loops, I contribute to discourses around art making, creativity and aesthetic epistemology.
Other projects condense discourses with multiple participants - international conferences, or cultural producers in Chicago neighborhoods. Key to this work is that I need to be present to conduct it. This is where my interest in epistemes intersects with my position as cultural management prof. In addition, I am continuosly expanding a stream of works that on the surface is about visualizations of time, but bends towards questions of resource valuation and culturally dominant apparatuses as embeded in concepts of temporality.
I have pondered how to best use this research catalogue since I signed up right after it launched. The vast page is a perfect diagram substrate. Various expositions are now in progress and address the above mentioned streams.
