About this exposition

Repensar el oficio de la taxidermia desde una perspectiva transdisciplinar permite examinar sus límites epistemológicos y su papel en los discursos científicos, museográficos y artísticos. La etimología del término, entendida como “orden de la piel” evidencia cómo históricamente ha operado bajo lógicas jerárquicas sobre el cuerpo animal, desatendiendo interrogantes éticas relevantes en tornoa su representación. Para superar estas limitaciones, se proponen prácticas de interacción entre saberes artísticos, científicos e históricos, complementadas con perspectivas místicas y espirituales, concebidas como espacios de reconfiguración discursiva y productiva. En esta investigación teórico-artística se integran pintura procesual, performance, registro audiovisual, infografías críticas y bitácoras reflexivas, dando forma a MUDAR, una metodología transdisciplinar orientada a revisar las convenciones de preparación, visibilización y conservación de cuerpos taxidermizados. El proyecto plantea la elaboración de un manifiesto poético-político que establezca lineamientos artísticos, éticos y espirituales para el trabajo con cuerpos animales, dirigido a taxidermistas, artistas y museos. Asimismo, busca contribuir a la discusión académica, respondiendo a la falta de sistematización y desarrollo teórico en torno a la taxidermia como práctica artística e investigación en sí misma. La propuesta aspira a generar reflexiones críticas y herramientas metodológicas que sustenten una práctica artística sensible y situada. En diálogo con la “ciencia de la conservación”, aborda problemáticas contemporáneas sobre los usos y representaciones del cuerpo animal en contextos de exhibición, abriendo emergentes posibilidades de pensamiento y creación.
